Meet Your Therapist

Growing up as an Indian American, I navigated the complexities of a collectivistic upbringing within an individualistic society. This often led to feeling misunderstood and lacking support from adults who could truly grasp my unique challenges and obstacles. Experiencing racism, bullying, conflicts with parents, and a persistent sense of isolation highlighted the crucial need for a safe and understanding space, which I often couldn't find.
Becoming a therapist has felt like my true calling. I've always possessed a deep capacity for empathy, understanding, and care, extending beyond my family to those I encounter. My practice focuses on working with children, young adults, and families.
My therapeutic approach is rooted in a person-centered philosophy, recognizing that effective therapy begins by meeting individuals precisely where they are in their lives. I also integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques to help clients understand the interconnectedness of their behaviors, thoughts, and feelings.
While I am passionate about supporting all individuals, I particularly enjoy working with children and providing them with a secure environment to express themselves. I believe children deserve respect, and their emotions can often be overlooked in the context of expectations at home and school. I incorporate Cognitive Behavioral and Play Therapy techniques to enable children to express their feelings, process challenging experiences, and build coping skills.
I have experience addressing a range of common concerns, including various types of anxiety, depression, personality disorders, autism, behavioral issues, academic difficulties, ADHD, and traumatic experiences.
Having almost 10 years of experience, I founded Talk Your Heart Out Counseling to achieve a healthier work-life balance and gain more flexibility and control in my daily life. My primary goal isn't financial success, but rather the freedom to shape my day intentionally. Owning my practice allows me to cultivate peace of mind, experience greater job satisfaction, and dedicate more time to my clients and personal interests.
I hope you find a safe space here and my wish is that every individual whom I encounter can literally TALK their heart out!
